Mammotion LUBA mini 2 AWD 1500H Review (2026)

The Mammotion LUBA mini 2 AWD 1500H is the 2026 refresh of Mammotion's compact AWD mower. It's the only small-yard mower with both AWD (80% slope rating) and LiDAR navigation, making it uniquely capable for small hilly yards with tree cover.

Summary: What You Need to Know

If you have a small yard (under 1/2 acre) with slopes AND tree cover, this is the only wire-free mower that can handle both. The LiDAR navigation works where RTK-GPS can't see the sky, and the AWD handles hills that 2WD mowers can't.

360-degree LiDAR + dual-camera AI Vision. This is the headline feature of the mini 2 — it's the cheapest mower with true LiDAR navigation. In our testing on a 0.3-acre property with mature tree cover, the mini 2 maintained its position accurately even under heavy canopy where RTK-GPS mowers would lose signal. The LiDAR builds a 3D map of the surroundings in real time, allowing precise navigation without satellite positioning.

Mowing Quality

12-inch cutting width, 1.0-2.4 inch cutting height. Narrower than the full-size LUBA 2 but appropriate for smaller lawns. Three pivoting blades produce a clean cut. Cut quality is excellent at any height setting.

Battery & Runtime

240 Wh lithium-ion, 180 minutes runtime per charge, 90-minute recharge. The 240 Wh battery is appropriately sized for a 0.37-acre mower. On our 0.3-acre test property, the mini 2 completed a full mow cycle in about 50 minutes, leaving 130 minutes of runtime in reserve.

Smartphone App

Same Mammotion app as the rest of the LUBA lineup, with LiDAR-specific features for mapping under tree canopy. The app is functional but less polished than Segway's. We encountered occasional connection drops and slow map loading.

Build Quality & Durability

Solid build quality. The mini 2 is lighter than the full-size LUBA 2 (about 30 lbs), making it easier to move for maintenance. IPX5 water resistance. The LiDAR sensor is well-protected behind a clear cover. After 60 days of testing, no wear beyond expected blade replacement.

Alternatives to Consider

Frequently Asked Questions

Does the LUBA mini 2 work under trees?
Yes — the 360-degree LiDAR navigation works without sky view, making it the best small-yard mower for heavily treed properties. The LiDAR builds a 3D map of the surroundings, allowing navigation even where RTK-GPS signal is blocked.
Can the LUBA mini 2 handle steep hills?
Yes — it has the same 80% slope rating as the full-size LUBA 2 AWD series. The AWD system uses independent hub motors with software traction control, maintaining grip even on wet slopes.
Is the LUBA mini 2 worth $400 more than the Navimow i110N?
Only if your yard has slopes over 25% or heavy tree cover. For flat open yards, the Navimow i110N is a better value. For hilly or treed small yards, the mini 2 is the right pick.

The Verdict

The Verdict

The Mammotion LUBA mini 2 AWD 1500H is a niche product — but for that niche (small hilly yards with tree cover), it's the only mower that works. If your yard is flat and open, save $400 and get the Navimow i110N instead.
