Mammotion LUBA 2 AWD 3000X vs 5000: Lawn Size Decides

The Mammotion LUBA 2 AWD 3000X ($2,499) and 5000 ($2,899) are mid-tier and large-lawn versions of the same AWD platform. The 5000 has a larger battery (600 Wh vs. 480 Wh), longer runtime (300 min vs. 270 min), and larger lawn capacity (1.25 acres vs. 0.75 acres).

Quick Decision

The Verdict

If your lawn is under 3/4 acre, get the 3000X and save $400. If your lawn is between 3/4 and 1.5 acres, get the 5000. The 5000 is also the better pick if you want to mow less frequently — the larger battery lets you skip a mow day without running out of capacity.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why doesn't the LUBA 2 AWD 5000 have 4G cellular like the 3000X?
Good question — we don't know. Mammotion reserved the 'X' (4G cellular) designation for the 3000X. The 5000 and 10000H don't have cellular, though the 10000H has built-in anti-theft GPS. If you need cellular on a 5000, you can add a third-party GPS tracker.
Is the LUBA 2 AWD 5000 worth $400 more than the 3000X?
If your lawn is over 3/4 acre, yes. The larger battery and longer runtime make a real difference on larger properties. If your lawn is under 3/4 acre, save the $400 and get the 3000X.
Can the LUBA 2 AWD 3000X mow a 1-acre lawn?
Technically yes, but it will need 2+ mow cycles per session. For a true 1-acre lawn, get the LUBA 2 AWD 5000 instead.
